"pointing that out"-
Really? Do you know him personally? Did you sit in on his judicial committee? Pretty arrogant and presumptuous of you.

today i was at the meeting (i go there about once a month now).
in the service meeting they had a part where they interviewed the secretary of the congregation.. so one question was: "why are the service reports so important?".
our secretary explained that the reports are important, because the elders can see, who is spiritually weak.
Women do as much of that as men do. Try again.
I agree. And personally, I think getting a stiffy on demand is an attractive quality in a woman.
has anyone, yet, had a chance to watch this glorious epic?
it is truly a flawless work of art.. i know what you're thinking: it couldn't possibly pack the punch of the original, or surpass it in scope or magnitude.
but you would be wrong.

I know what you're thinking: It couldn't possibly pack the punch of the original, or surpass it in scope or magnitude. But you would be wrong. This isn't just a movie about sharks that get sucked up into a storm and then rain down upon humanity. That in itself would make it great. No, it's really a gripping testimony to the triumph of the human spirit, reminiscent of Schindler's List. It's a wondrous and surreal foray into our very souls.
Tara Reid gives a virtuoso performance that can only be classified as 'spellbinding'. And Ian Ziering proves once again why he is the greatest American actor since the prime of Marlon Brando.
I must suggest, however, that you watch it multiple times, as the story is so richly layered and intricately-woven that it couldn't possibly all be absorbed in one sitting.
atheists are people who are "a-" (without) "theism" (a belief in god).
they are not "athiests"; they are not "athier" than everyone else, nor is "athy" a word.. .
this isn't aimed at anyone in particular, but it's a mistake i see every day on here and i thought it might be nice to have a topic we can bump just to periodically remind people of the proper spelling, especially since they are sometimes referring to their very own beliefs.
Duely noted
this is not meant to be a slag off the bible thread.. i had a question asked me the other day and it was: 'do you live by anything from the bible?'.
i had to think about that one because i was force grown in the filthy, disgusting cult of the paedophile loving watchtower(r).. you know what?
i really don't know if i just naturally am a great bloke or if any 'nice' bits in the bible influenced me......or has western culture been influenced by the bible for good and bad?.
Ditto what Cofty said. If I do, it's purely by coincidence.
this weekend nearly everyone i have ever known or that i am related to is sitting in a convention.
i miss none of it!!!!.
i do not miss:.
I don't miss talking about how great the convention was afterwards, when it was completely indistinguishable from every one before it.
I don't miss having to burn vacation time at work to attend the first day.
I don't miss wearing a suit and tie in 100 degree heat.
Not at all. It would probably be a relief. I wouldn't have to come up with excuses to avoid family get-togethers. I've strongly considered sending a letter DAing myself, but that's more effort than I care to put into it. I'm never bothered by elders anymore, and even my mom rarely calls me anymore.
okay, let's do a big what-if: suppose the gb for its own unfathomable reasons suddenly got new light (tm) and decided to start appointing women elders and ministerial servants.
they would, of course, refer to the examples of junia (apostle), and priscilla and phoebe (deaconesses in wordlyspeak) in the greek scriptures; never mind what mental somersaults it would take to get them there.
stranger things have happened in wt history.. that being the case, would having women in positions of real authority make any significant difference in the congos or in the borg as a whole, and why or why not?.
Not much difference. As with male elders, how long they last in the role would depend on how willing they were to tow the company line.
if push came to shove and it was a showdown for loyalty to the organization or not following whatever decrees coming heir way, what percentage would remain loyal to the organization?
.
Only the grape stuff. The cherry could easily get mixed up with blood.
a minny man in a local congregation has a beard...he was bullied by the elders to remove it.. then the co came along and told the elders to allow him to keep his beard.
(not as the result of any skin condition or anything).. i kid you not!!!.
what do you make of that?.
A woman who accompanies a gay male in order to give the impression that he is heterosexual.
You just described half the elder's wives in my old circuit
